$2000 NSW IVF rebate

The NSW government has recently announced that Women in NSW undergoing IVF and accessing other assisted reproductive treatments will be given a one-off cash rebate of up to $2,000 to reduce treatment costs. 

If you have undergone an eligible procedure from 19 February 2025 with The Fertility Centre in Liverpool, Wollongong or Nepean (Penrith), you will be able to submit a claim when the rebate scheme officially opens on the 11th March 2025.

The rebate will be available to NSW residents using private fertility clinics like The Fertility Centre and who meet the household income eligibility criteria.

Eligibility for the cash rebate includes:

• you are an NSW resident
• you have undergone IVF, artificial insemination, or another fertility treatment as defined by the ART Act 2007
• you have out-of-pocket costs from an accredited provider from 19^th February, 2025
• you meet the household income eligibility criteria in which eligible women must either receive the Family Tax Benefit or hold a Health Care Card or have an annual Household Income of $116,000 or less.
• you must be claiming out-of-pocket costs not reimbursed by another government program or rebate, such as Medicare

The rebate is not available for those:

• with an out-of-pocket cost associated with publicly supported lower cost IVF treatment 
• patients who access services with the sole purpose to preserve their fertility
• with no out-of-pocket costs

If you have received the Pre-IVF Fertility Testing Rebate, you can still apply for the Fertility Treatment Rebate. Patients can make claim the full $2,000 rebate with evidence of out-of-pocket costs that are less than $2,000.  Details on how to claim this rebate can be found on Service NSW.
